Dick's delighted (but Tommy isn't) when Tommy's accepted to a school for smart kids. Sally falls for a guy she met in a gay bar. Harry dabbles in magic.

Sally discovers the joys of motherhood when Mrs. Dubcek asks the Solomons to baby-sit her grandson. Meanwhile, Dick begs Mary to let him “fish sit” for her while she’s away at a conference.

Thanksgiving's an alien concept for the Solomons; it's an annoyance for Sally (who must cook), and an onus on Tommy. But Harry finds romance.

A jealous Dick decides to show Mary how funny he is after she asks another professor to emcee a college fund-raiser she's organizing. Meanwhile, Harry loses his beloved coat, and Sally builds a shelf to hold her shoes.

Harry and Sally discover the true meaning of Christmas at the mall, where they get jobs. But Dick turns curmudgeonly. Tommy tries to find the perfect present for August.
Episode 13
Dick, upset that Mary got a prime parking space and he didn't, quits his job. Harry loses his memory and becomes paranoid thinking aliens are taking over the world.
Episode 14
When Tommy asks Dick to direct his high school production of “Romeo and Juliet,” Dick takes the role a little too seriously. Sally tries to get Officer Don to fix Albright’s parking tickets.
Episode 15
While doing a favor for Dr. Albright, Dick sprains his ankle and discovers the power of guilt. Harry, desiring his own room, moves into a tree house. Tommy uses Sally to sell chocolate for a school fund-raiser.
Episode 16
A Frenchman asks an unwitting Sally to marry him so that he can remain in the country. Tommy discovers he has a talent for flower arranging and styling. Dick is inspired to discuss marriage with Albright.
Episode 17
Dick fears his relationship with Mary has grown stale. Tommy's growing tired of August's “perfection.” Harry and Sally switch jobs.
Episode 18
Dick's guilt over hitting a chipmunk with his car spurs him to animal-rights activism. Tommy's in trouble with August again. Meanwhile, Harry joins the Boy Scouts.

Dick, fearing that Mary has him wrapped around her little finger, takes lessons in being "manly"---from Harry. Sally and Tommy have a showdown with the game Monopoly.

While Dick cracks North Rutherford society (to Albright's chagrin), Tommy hangs out with school toughs. Meanwhile, "Mustang Sally" develops an interest in wrestling.
Episode 21
Dick's rudeness lands him in a sensitivity-training session. Dubcek's daughter takes Harry to her high-school reunion. Officer Don teaches Tommy how to drive.
Episode 22
When an insulted Nina has had enough and quits, Harry becomes secretary to Dick and Dr. Albright. Meanwhile, Sally decides to live out the human childhood she never had.
Episode 23
Sally becomes a pseudo celebrity when she beats up Mark Hamill in a restaurant, and Dick becomes jealous while Tommy's school life is affected by Sally's newfound fame. As Sally's assistant, Harry becomes obsessed with keeping Sally on top.

A shy and brainy librarian is attracted to Dick, while Sally realizes why she's attracted to Officer Don. Meanwhile, Tommy and Harry write a “killer” episode of The X-Files.

The Solomons discover dreaming---and are shaken so much that they might have to go home for repairs.

Shaken by dreams, the Solomons may have to return home for repairs. But Dick doesn't want to go---he wants to marry Mary.
